Oil Lamps and Hanging Systems 

Medieval oil lamps were not limited to tabletop use; hooks, chains, and wall-mounted supports allowed them to be positioned at different heights throughout an interior. These historical examples formed the visual and structural basis for the lamps and modular suspension systems included in the pack.

Historical and Visual References 

Historical objects, antique examples, and modern reconstructions used during the design process were brought together in a reference moodboard. The final assets were developed by studying the shared forms, materials, and hanging mechanisms found across these examples. Click on the images to visit their original sources. 

Final Asset Designs 

Candle Holders and Chandeliers 

This section explores candle-based lighting solutions commonly associated with religious and ceremonial spaces, including handheld candle holders, multi-branched tabletop stands, and larger suspended fixtures. Inspired by the forms and atmosphere seen in The Name of the Rose, the designs were further shaped through historical references to remain consistent with the visual character of the period. 

Historical and Visual References 

Although some of the referenced objects belong to later historical periods, their simple wrought-iron construction, functional forms, and restrained decorative language closely align with the visual character of medieval environments. For this reason, selected objects were used as visual references and adapted into assets that complement the overall aesthetic of the pack. Click on the images to visit their original sources.
